Business Projection

When your message must be clear and crisp

When it comes to business presentations, projectors can transform the viewing experience and make an impact on your audience by delivering your message crisp and clear.

There are many business projectors on the market. Choosing the right projector for your business needs is one critical factor, but it is also important to make the best decision concerning the replacement bulbs to ensure ongoing performance and reliability. Here are some tips for both cases:

Why choosing the right replacement lamp is key?

For your meetings you want top-quality performance and of course you don’t want the lamp to fail during a critical presentation.

That is why it’s key to choose the right lamp replacement, and have it on hand for when it is needed. Only with genuine lamps, like OSRAM P-VIP replacement lamps, can you be sure to experience the high quality and long life you need.

How to choose the prefect business projector?

There are many variations of projectors available in the market. With so many options and features to consider, this ultimately means that you will certainly find a perfect fit for your needs. Below we highlight some key factors to consider before buying a new business projector, but also be sure to read through product reviews and conduct research carefully to ensure you are happy with the projector performance.

Brightness

Projector brightness is measured in ANSI lumens. How many lumens your projector needs depends on your audience size and the lighting conditions in the space where you are presenting.

Lumen recommendations by audience size and lighting conditions:

  • 2,000-2,500 lumens for lights-off, low ambient light presentations
  • 3,000 lumens for audiences of less than a hundred with some ambient light
  • 4,500 lumens for audiences of 100-200 with some ambient light
  • 6,000 lumens for audiences of 100 or more under bright lights

Resolution

Resolution and inputs are the most important factors for business users who want high-quality images, but keep in mind that the quality of your prepared presentation will make a big difference in the quality of the presented image. No matter how good a projector, if you use low-resolution graphics they may not present well, especially on a large screen. Make sure you save your presentations at the highest available resolution.

Here is some information on the options available:

  • WUXGA (1920 x 1200) - an excellent choice for when you need to display a lot of data or need ultra-crisp resolution. May be difficult to read small text at this resolution though, so test before presenting.
  • WXGA (1280 x 800) - the most popular business projector resolution as most people use widescreen laptops for presentations.
  • XGA (1024 x 768) - for customers who don't use widescreen laptops, or who have an existing XGA projector and screen setup and don't want to replace the screen.
  • HD (1920 x 1080) - for customers with graphic and video-heavy presentations.

Projector inputs

If image quality is very important to you, we highly recommend projectors with HDMI inputs. Even if your computer doesn't output in HD, an HDMI input will ensure your projector is future-proof.

The most popular XGA, WXGA and HD projectors for business all have at least one HDMI input.

Added features

Some projectors have added features that can make your presenting life easier. You may not require all, but keep them in mind when choosing the right projector.

  • Wireless compatibility: This means less equipment to buy or carry around. Some projectors even enable wireless streaming from smartphones, laptops and tablets.
  • Multiple device ports: offers flexibility
  • Digital keystone correction and lens shift: gives you more options for projector placement.
  • Short throw: these projectors allow you to present in small spaces without concerns about shadows obstructing the image or light shining on the presenter's face.
  • 3D-compatibility: 3D-compatible projectors work with every 3D source. You need to have a high-end graphics card and the chosen models should be compatible with the 3D format you want to use, such as Blu-ray, set-top boxes, Open GL or others.
